Festival to showcase 25 varieties of mango from India

JEDDAH: Top quality mangoes will be lined up at a festival on the premises of the Consulate General of India here on Friday.
The “Indian Mango Festival 2016” which was organized by the Indian Forum Jeddah, will be held between 4:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. at the consulate premises in Tahlia Street near the Al-Huda mosque, said Aijaz Ahmed Khan, president of the forum, on Monday.
About 25 types of the fruit from India will be showcased at the festival, the entry to which is free and limited only for Indian families, he added.
A couple of food restaurants in Jeddah will also cook up tasty treats for the visitors during the festival hours, he said.
The forum has appealed to families to not to miss the date with the fruit, which is considered the “king of fruits” in India.
